Description
Organic cedar nuts
Our organic cedar nuts are a special delicacy with a fine nutty and pleasantly mild aroma. They come from the cones of the Siberian cedar and are traditionally collected in the forests of Russia. The trees grow there in a natural environment and provide these small, aromatic kernels.
In terms of taste, cedar nuts are often compared to pine nuts – and in fact there is hardly any difference between them. While pine nuts are usually somewhat longer and often come from the Mediterranean region, cedar nuts are somewhat rounder and grow mainly in the vast forests of Russia. However, they are in no way inferior to pine nuts in terms of aroma and quality.
With their fine consistency and aromatic flavor, organic cedar nuts are a wonderful ingredient for many dishes. They are particularly popular in salads, Mediterranean dishes, pesto or fine vegetable dishes. Lightly roasted in the pan, they also develop a particularly intense aroma and provide a pleasant crunch.
Harvesting cedar nuts is a laborious process, as most of the kernels do not come from plantations, but from wild collections in natural forests. The cones are collected, opened and the kernels carefully extracted. This traditional and labor-intensive process also explains the comparatively higher price of these special nuts. However, once you have discovered their unique taste, you will know that it is absolutely worth it.
Of course, D’NussFee also pays attention to the best organic quality and carefully selected goods so that you can enjoy aromatic and fresh cedar nuts.
