The small, dried red berries from Iran have a sour, fruity taste. In organic raw food quality, they are an exquisite rarity. In Iran and other countries in the Middle East, the fruits of the barberry have a permanent place on the menu. Here the barberry grows mainly in gardens and parks and is better known as an ornamental plant. The barberries are high in fiber and a real superfood.
